Fire season with this smoke and bad air is stressful. Not being able to be active outside, and the the history of past fires in Southern Oregon activates fear and trauma in many of us.  Natural disasters are significant experiences in one's life, and the feelings arise even when we might know we're safe or try to remain calm.  I was in the big Boulder floods in 2013 where I only had the clothes on my back, unable to return to my home while being new to a city where I knew no one.  These experiences stay with us and can imprint as deep trauma that becomes alive again when something conscious or subconscious triggers our systems.  Trauma is known to be a feeling, often not a memory.  I'm fortunate because I continue to increase in skill and expertise, which helps me navigate life. Help is here for you also, with me. I will teach you the skills that will be valuable for your entire lifetime.

What if deep calm can be practised instead of overwhelm?  With nervous system regulation skills that are practiced daily before and even during a traumatic event occurs, we can become adept at regulating our own nervous system.  We might still feel uneasy, however we won't reach an extreme of being unable to sleep, eat, or other counterproductive effects.  You can actualize peace and learn these valuable skills for your lifetime.
