I call it "The Bridge." We're not where we were but not where we're headed. In this strange place where everything feels shaky, and we wonder where our confidence went. It can be because of a sudden big change in our life, a shock or trauma (which actually each have distinct characteristics,) or perhaps we realize we're unhappy and have been for quite awhile. It seems like everyone else knows what they're doing and how, and then there's .... us.

During these times it can be really lonely. At first it may feel like no one understands us, and the we realize we don't even understand ourselves and what is happening . Then it's really good to reach out. You may be surprised how good it feels to be validated for your feelings and experiences, and begin the route to deeper understanding, enhanced skills and the beginning of a new way of being in these changes and the days to come.

I've found that it's a call for remembering that everything is founded on the essential elements of the transitory nature of all things.  In other words, all things are designed to arise, abide and pass away.  All things change; all things are temporary.  The skills, wisdom and understanding we needed yesterday isn't enough for today.  Step by step we learn to move with the rhythm of life while mastering our mind so that we can intend our movements, choices and decisions.  Then it's important to surrender what is truly beyond our control.  The great Mystery of Life shows us over and over again that there is far more than what appears, and that the jewel in the experience will be revealed if we stay tuned in and trust even a little.

I have found that these times in my life when I was on the bridge of "I Don't Know," were extremely valuable times.  I came to appreciate them. You may be surprised just how easy it can be... just to reach out and begin a deeper awareness, a deeper realization of what is needed right here, right now.  Life will meet us when we seek for assistance, even if we don't know what we need.  Feel free to reach out to me.  I understand, and I'd happy to hear from you. Take good care.
